I had a whole teapot (3 cups) today, then a chai latte later on. I was really dragging again today.
Maybe I need to address the caffeine/lack of sleep issue.

Why give up overpriced coffee when it is so yummy?
It's true, I do like my soy vanilla lattes. The question is, do I like them five dollars worth?
More than once, I've tried to quit purchasing overpriced coffee drinks and the accompanying overpriced baked goods. Most recently, I added up the average amount I might spend in a month and decided to donate that money to Save the Children, reasoning that the funds would be better spend providing clean water, food, medical care and education for children in Malawi than on soy vanilla lattes and white chocolate mochas.
I stuck with my commitment for a while, but then I started making exceptions to my rule for "special occasions."
Vacations, weekends, hanging out with friends, having time to myself, and being especially tired all counted as special occasions.
Now Save the Children is receiving our monthly support, but Starbucks and Caribou are still getting nearly the same amount.
It's come to the point that I don't even enjoy lattes that much, and I could get my caffeine fix at a much more reasonable cost at home, or even opting for overpriced tea or plain coffee. However, the siren song (or, more accurately, the smell) is hard to resist.
Is it possible for me to give up lattes once and for all?

- My house is messy and my kids are picky eaters and sometimes I stay up too late for no good reason and then I'm grumpy the next day. But otherwise we're all pretty happy so maybe I should quit worrying about that stuff.
